What to Expect

Types of Treatment:

Orthopedic Massage Therapy:

Orthopedic massage therapy is corrective care that incorporates functional therapeutic assessment, neuromuscular therapy (NMT), neuromuscular re-education, myofascial release (MFR), soft-tissue manipulation, movement of loco motor soft tissues, scar tissue mobilization, p.n.f. stretching, strengthening, and specific client home care protocols to reduce and eliminate physical pain and dysfunction.

The goal of orthopedic massage therapy is to restore structural balance throughout the body to provide immediate and permanent results.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)/Trigger Point Therapy:

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)/Trigger Point Therapy

This type of treatment is an anatomically precise technique that treats muscles, tendons and ligaments to eliminate acute and chronic neuromuscular pain patterns, trigger points and postural distortions.

Myofascial Release (MFR)/Connective Tissue Therapy (CT):

Myofascial Release (MFR)/Connective Tissue Therapy (CT)

This type of treatment is considered corrective care and uses the dynamic stretching of the fascia (the shrink wrap around your muscles) to release myofascial restrictions, relieve chronic tension, increase ease of movement, improve posture and enhance self awareness.

Relaxation Massage Therapy:

Relaxation Massage Therapy

Relaxation massage therapy is relief care, promoting an easing of tension in the body and improved circulation. It reduces or eliminates immediate symptoms and simply rejuvenates the body without addressing the cause of your symptoms.

Therapy Process: Corrective Care vs. Relief Care

Corrective care is a strategy that focuses on healing the cause of your symptoms. It creates a higher level of wellness and goes beyond the removal of immediate symptoms. Corrective care is more permanent and varies in length of treatment time.

Relief care is different from corrective care because it simply reduces or eliminates the immediate symptoms and rejuvenates the body. Relief care does not address the cause of the symptoms.
